It seems that Jurgen Klopp’s footprint at Liverpool could last quite a bit longer than this season, after it was revealed that he’s recommended a player to the Reds that Man United are also targeting.
Both clubs are likely to go through something of a change during the close season, Liverpool already getting their act together in terms of a new structure which will, eventually, lead to them choosing who will replace Klopp in the dugout.
Klopp wants Liverpool to sign Ait-Nouri
Even though the smart money is on the Red Devils replacing Erik ten Hag, there’s been no official announcement that this will be the case, so in some respects, United are a step or two behind their Premier League rivals.
That could influence their move for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ exciting left-back, Rayan Ait-Nouri.
According to TeamTalk, he has been on the radar at Old Trafford, but Klopp has now recommended that Liverpool sign the player to give decent competition to Andrew Robertson.
The outlet also mention that the Anfield outfit were linked with the 22-year-old back in January, though they decided against making the purchase at that stage.
Whether Klopp’s replacement will share the German’s thought process regarding the French-Algerian isn’t clear, and incoming Football CEO, Michael Edwards, will also have a view.
