NBA teams have been actively trading first-round picks in recent years, resulting in a unique scenario where approximately one-third of the league possesses about three-quarters of the first-round draft selections.

Currently, 11 teams, including the Brooklyn Nets, Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Orlando Magic, Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors, and Utah Jazz, control the majority of tradable first-round picks.

These teams have the flexibility to trade picks until 2030, with the constraint that trades cannot extend beyond seven drafts, including the ongoing season, as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
