The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the more versatile players in the league in safety Justin Reid.
The reason is that he doesn’t just play safety, but he can kick, too.
Reid has seven career kickoffs and has made one extra point in two career attempts.
While recently speaking on The Green Light Podcast, Reid said that he might hold the kickoff job heading into the year.
“We might have added some time to my career. You might’ve extended my show a couple years,” Reid said.

Entering his seventh NFL season (fifth with the Chiefs), Reid has been a solid safety as his career has continued.
He has five career seasons with at least 75 total tackles, and his 37 career pass deflections and eight interceptions are also quite notable.
However, the fact that the Kansas City Chiefs have yet another player who can provide value at multiple positions should terrify the rest of the league.
Now, Kansas City can essentially have an 11th defender on kickoffs instead of having ten defenders and a kicker who is unlikely to make the tackle anyway.
These kinds of ideas are part of the reason why the Chiefs have won three Super Bowls in the last five years and are on the doorstep of a three-peat.
This will allow top kicker Harrison Butler, who is one of the league’s best at his position, to simply focus on field goals.
Having Reid kick off is yet another outside-the-box thought from a winning franchise.
