Highly sought-after transfer AJ Storr from Wisconsin has officially transferred to Kansas, as confirmed by 247Sports on Thursday. Storr, ranked No. 5 in the CBS Sports Transfer Rankings, provided a significant scoring boost to the Badgers in his sophomore season in 2023-24. The 6-foot-6 wing, who spent his freshman season at St. John’s, has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
At Kansas, Storr is expected to play a crucial role in filling the void left by Kevin McCullar, who has exhausted his eligibility after earning all-Big 12 honors for the past two seasons. With Jayhawks wing Johnny Furphy entering the NBA Draft process, there is a potential gap in scoring on the perimeter for KU.
Storr brings great size and scoring ability to the wing position, with a career 3-point shooting percentage of 35.2% and an average of 16.8 points in 28.8 minutes at Wisconsin. He excelled in the Big Ten Tournament, averaging 22.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in the Badgers’ four-game run to the title game.
“AJ Storr is a versatile big wing with strength, athleticism, good size, and a well-rounded skill set,” wrote 247Sports director of scouting Adam Finkelstein. “He made an immediate impact at St. John’s as a freshman and took on a larger role at Wisconsin this year, showcasing his scoring ability and shooting prowess.”
Kansas is retooling after a 23-11 (10-8 Big 12) season and has also added transfers Zeke Mayo from South Dakota State and Riley Kugel from Florida. Along with a three-man freshman class of top-50 players, the Jayhawks are building a talented roster with experienced players like Dajuan Harris, KJ Adams, and Hunter Dickinson eligible to return.
Storr’s 3-point shooting efficiency dipped slightly at Wisconsin, but with more playmakers around him at Kansas, he has the potential to boost his performance. Known for his attacking style and rim pressure, Storr is expected to thrive in a system that allows him to showcase his athleticism and scoring ability.
