Kawhi Leonard of the Clippers to skip drills during training camp

Los Angeles Clippers Kawhi Leonard to Sit Out Drills in Training Camp

Los Angeles Clippers Injured Star Kawhi Leonard to Sit Out Training Camp Due to Knee Issues

The Los Angeles Clippers will keep Kawhi Leonard, their veteran forward, out of drills during next week’s training camp. Leonard, a six-time All-Star, has been undergoing treatments to manage inflammation in his surgically repaired right knee since the end of last season.

Although the inflammation has subsided, the Clippers’ management has decided to hold Leonard out of drills in the upcoming training camp to ensure he returns to full strength. According to reports by ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk and Kris Rhim, Clippers president Lawrence Frank mentioned that the swelling in Leonard’s knee has decreased significantly. However, his availability for the regular season remains uncertain.

In August, Frank had stated that Leonard would be ready for training camp, but there is currently no concrete plan to incorporate him into team practices. The focus is on strengthening and loading the knee before Leonard can return to full basketball activities.

Leonard, who missed the final eight games of the regular season last year due to knee inflammation, attempted a comeback during the playoffs but had to sit out some crucial games. The Clippers are taking a cautious approach this time to prevent any setbacks.

Throughout his tenure with the Clippers, Leonard has been troubled by knee issues, limiting his playing time. The team is hopeful that with proper rehabilitation and training, Leonard can return to full health and contribute effectively when he is ready to play.

Despite the setbacks, Leonard and the Clippers are optimistic about his progress and are committed to getting him back to 100% fitness. The team is focused on his long-term health and performance on the court.
