As preparations are underway for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Team USA has announced its preliminary squad, with eleven players securing their spots and one roster position still open.

According to a report from Shams Charania and Joe Vardon on The Athletic, Kawhi Leonard is the frontrunner for the remaining spot, competing against players like Paul George, Paolo Banchero, Mikal Bridges, and Jalen Brunson.

Currently averaging 23.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 34.3 minutes per game, the 32-year-old Leonard could potentially make his debut for Team USA if selected.

The anticipated roster includes star players such as Steph Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Joel Embiid, in addition to talents like Devin Booker, Anthony Davis, and Bam Adebayo.

The selection process highlights Team USA’s meticulous approach, as they sifted through a pool of 41 potential candidates to form a roster that combines veteran leadership with youthful energy.
