Kelly Oubre Jr. Reportedly Involved in Car Crash Following Game 2 Defeat

Oubre

After a brutal Game 2 loss to the Knicks, the night didn’t get any easier for Sixers guard Kelly Oubre Jr. after he crashed his car.

He reportedly ran a red light and crashed his Lamborghini hours after the game ended on Monday night, TMZ reported and Philly beat reporter Gina Mizell confirmed with a “league source.”

The Philadelphia Police Department told TMZ that the wreck happened at around 1:45 AM on Tuesday morning, after Oubre and the 76ers lost Game 2 104-101 at Madison Square Garden.

Police say Oubre “disregarded a red traffic signal” and hit a 2023 Hyundai Elantra, but no injuries were reported from either parties.

There was damage to both vehicles though, since they both needed to be towed away from the crash site.

UPDATE: After Game 3 on Thursday, Oubre addressed the incident.

“Everything is good,” he said. “I’m okay. The people that were involved were OK, but I need to probably get a driver or something and just stay off the road and behind the wheel, but everything is good. I’m good. I was still able to do my job and support my family and things are great.”

The Sixers confirmed to TMZ the organization is aware of the incident involving the role player.

No doubt Oubre’s 2021 matte purple Lambo is a well-loved and pretty damn expensive vehicle.

He posed with it in a matching purple suit for a German outlet Intersection two years ago.

Oubre

Strangely, this isn’t the first time Oubre has been involved in a road accident since he joined the Sixers.

He missed 11 games late last year after he was involved in an alleged hit-and-run where someone ran into him when he was riding a bike.

The details around that accident got a bit weird, as some in the NBA community accused Oubre of fabricating information about the accident.
