Kevin Durant is known as one of the best NBA players of the past 10-15 years, and he will ultimately go down as one of the best basketball players of all time once he calls it a career.
When it comes to the NFL, Durant has long been a big fan of the Washington Commanders, as he is originally from the Washington, D.C. area.
While on “Up & Adams,” Durant was asked by host Kay Adams which NFL team has impressed him the most, and he said it’s the Minnesota Vikings.
In particular, he said quarterback Sam Darnold has impressed him and that the Vikings have faced quality competition.
The Vikings are 4-0 right now, even though many predicted when the season started that they would miss the playoffs.
Those predictions carried greater weight when quarterback J.J. McCarthy, the No. 10 pick in the draft who helped lead the University of Michigan to the national championship last season, was ruled out for the year with a meniscus injury.
But when the Vikings upset the San Francisco 49ers 23-17 in Week 2, people started to take note, and people became very impressed when they then beat the Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers the last two weeks.
Darnold was a star at the University of Southern California and the No. 3 pick in the 2018 draft, but he struggled as the New York Jets’ starter in his first few years and was relegated to a backup afterward.
But now, as Minnesota’ starter, he’s thrown for 932 yards and is leading the NFL with 11 touchdown passes.
