Kings Have Not yet Offered Mike Brown contract Extension

Kings Have Yet To Approach Mike Brown With Extension Offer

According to sources from The Athletic, Mike Brown is looking for a long-term contract extension at his market rate with the Sacramento Kings this offseason. Brown originally signed a four-year deal with the Kings in 2022, with Year 4 being a mutual option, meaning the upcoming 24-25 season is his last guaranteed season.

Since Brown signed his contract, the coaching market has seen contracts signed by the likes of Steve Kerr ($17.5 million annually), Gregg Popovich ($16 million), Erik Spoeltra ($15 million), and Monty Williams ($13 million), resetting expectations. While Brown may not command a salary in that range, sources suggest it could approach $10 million per season.

Ownership has taken a wait-and-see approach with Brown, with Vivek Ranadive reportedly not approaching him with an extension offer yet. Sources indicate that Brown will be back for the next season, but discussions about an extension could complicate the current partnership.
