Jurgen Klopp has no plans to leave Red Bull, contrary to rumors linking Oliver Glasner as a potential successor.
The German coach, who left Liverpool in 2024 after a successful tenure, has been frequently mentioned as a candidate for several top clubs, including Real Madrid and Manchester United. However, Pete O’Rourke from Football Insider reports that Klopp is satisfied in his current position at Red Bull and is not contemplating a departure.
Furthermore, there have been discussions regarding a potential return to management for Klopp, including interest from Atletico Madrid.
Klopp Will Stay Put at Red Bull
Despite speculation that Oliver Glasner, the current manager of Crystal Palace, may take over Klopp’s position at Red Bull, the 58-year-old is content and has no desire to leave. He enjoys a less stressful environment away from the pressures of club management.
In comments regarding Klopp’s future, O’Rourke stated, “Yeah, I would say it’s very unlikely that something like that would happen.” He added, “Red Bull officials have dismissed the notion that Klopp could leave his role and return to management.”
O’Rourke further mentioned that while there will always be interest in Klopp due to his impressive career, he is currently happy at Red Bull, and the club is equally pleased with him. The idea that Red Bull would push him out seems unfounded.
Regarding Glasner, O’Rourke reflected, “He has ties to Red Bull, but I don’t see him hastening to exit the management scene anytime soon.” He emphasized that Klopp’s contentment at Red Bull indicates that the speculation surrounding a managerial change is merely a rumor.
Glasner Focused on Crystal Palace
Looking ahead, Oliver Glasner is preparing to conclude his time at Crystal Palace at season’s end. His focus remains on finishing strongly, and he isn’t looking at taking on new roles at this stage. Though he has previously worked with the Red Bull organization, which fueled recent rumors, Klopp’s commitment means there’s no opportunity for Glasner there.
Moreover, Glasner likely aims to remain as a manager, having made a significant impact at Crystal Palace. Several clubs could potentially be interested in bringing him into their fold after his departure.
