Everton, fighting near the relegation zone, put up a stellar performance against Liverpool. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and the solid defense led by Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski played a crucial role in Everton’s victory.

Everton took the lead in the 27th minute with Branthwaite scoring off a rebound from a free-kick. Calvert-Lewin then doubled Everton’s advantage with a powerful header in the second half.

Liverpool pushed for a comeback but Pickford’s saves denied them any chance of getting back into the game, sealing a disappointing night for the away team.

Jurgen Klopp Could Endure A Disappointing End To His Final Season At Anfield

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp announced his decision to step down at the end of the season. Liverpool’s recent struggles, including exiting the FA Cup and Europa League, have put Klopp’s farewell season in jeopardy. The Premier League title race is also slipping out of their hands.

Despite winning the Carabao Cup, Klopp might not have the ideal farewell season that Liverpool fans were hoping for.
