Knicks Players Address Horrendous 73-Point Game

Knicks players are furious with themselves after submitting an abysmal offensive performance in a 79-73 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

It was the Knicks’ lowest score in a game since April 2018, when they scored 73 against the Orlando Magic. It was also the first time since the 2015-16 season that two teams had both scored under 80 points in a single game.

While almost every player struggled mightily when it came to shooting the ball, Jalen Brunson (6-22 FG) and Josh Hart (4-13) were especially notable under-performers.

When asked about his struggles after the game, Brunson delivered a very blunt message.

“I played like dogs-t, that’s it,” he said.

Hart, meanwhile, said it was a “unique” game. When asked what he meant by that, he said, “We played like sh*t.”

“Obviously, we didn’t shoot the ball well,” Hart said at another point. “Turnovers were bad, I think I had six or seven myself, but you’ve just got to try to flush it,” Knicks forward Josh Hart said. “We’ve got them again on Tuesday and try to come out and play better.”

The game was also marred by an all-in scuffle when Kelly Oubre and Donte DiVincenzo got tied up.

DiVincenzo tried to get up while Oubre was still standing over him, which led to Knicks big man Isaiah Hartenstein pushing Oubre and the scuffle ensuing.

Both Knicks players and Oubre were given technicals.

“I ain’t got no enemies in this league,” Oubre said. “… All of that stuff’s funny to me. I don’t know why. I just laugh, because nobody’s gonna fight. At the end of the day, I’ll see you Tuesday, bro.”
