Kyrgios Hits Back At Becker After Latest Response

Kyrgios Hits Back At Becker After Latest Response

Nick Kyrgios wasn’t going to let Boris Becker‘s latest comment on him slide, which is why he responded on social media once more.

This year has been quite exciting in tennis, but nobody really thought that a clash between Kyrgios and Becker would happen. Well, it did, and it started when Kyrgios made some comments comparing eras in tennis and how today’s players are better than those before.

Becker didn’t take that kindly because he was one of the players Kyrgios named, and he responded to the Australian and then added more context in a recent Eurosport podcast. Kyrgios, of course, responded to Becker on social media once more.

Becker argued that players like himself allowed Kyrgios to live the way he does despite not playing for a full year. According to Becker, the former players elevated the sport to this level but Kyrgios wasn’t having any of that.

Uhhh what? I’ve been arguably one of the most watched players outside the big three the last decade? Fans around the world and have brought so many more people to the sport. I’ve created my own stuff off the court. Try to not hide any more assets x.

Kyrgios does make a decent point as he has been a crowd magnet, though maybe not for what is ideal. People showed up because you never knew what you were going to get.

You might get great tennis or chair throwing. He also mocked Becker’s financial problems, which some might find distasteful. In any case, the duo has been going back and forth for a few days now, and it doesn’t seem likely to stop because Kyrgios will not let it go that easily, and the same seems to apply to the German. He’s been quite fierce in his comments on this topic, as he feels strongly about it.
