Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will play his first postseason game of the year this weekend after his team earned the No. 1 seed and the first-round bye.
However, Jackson hasn’t had a ton of playoff success in the past with just one win in four postseason games.
So with a week to prepare, it was only natural for reporters to ask Jackson if he is more prepared for these playoffs than previous ones, to which he responded concisely and humbly.
“I believe so,” he said, via ESPN’s Jamison Hensley.

Jackson has been soft-spoken before, so it makes sense that he wouldn’t act boisterously for perhaps the biggest playoff game of his career so far.
The last time Jackson and the Ravens had a first-round bye in 2019, they were ousted by the Tennessee Titans behind the legs of running back Derrick Henry.
Jackson played especially poorly in the that matchup, which was the same year he won NFL MVP.
Jackson is the MVP favorite this time around, too, but he’s also a bit more experienced with a slightly better roster around him as well.
He and the Ravens will face the upstart Houston Texans, who easily dispatched the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card round behind ascendant rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud and an up-and-coming defense.
Jackson doesn’t sound like someone who’s taken his opponent lightly this time around, and his stoicism is perhaps an indication he’s matured as a player who’s looking to make a Super Bowl run.
