Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game of round 4 was a home defeat of 4th ranked Lavrio (9-17) to third ranked Maroussi (10-16) 90-76. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of Ahmed Hill (196-1995, college: Virginia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and forward Robert Woodard II (200-1999, college: MSU) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Maroussi’s coach Georgios Limniatis used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Khalid Moore (201-2000, college: Fordham) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Maroussi have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with PAOK and Kolossos HH. Lavrio at the other side keeps the fourth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Karditsas. Maroussi is looking forward to face PAOK (#3) in Thessaloniki in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lavrio will play on the road against Apollon in Patras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Athens: Panathinaikos (#1) and Peristeri (#3). Panathinaikos (24-1) won against visiting Peristeri (16-10) 93-88. The winners were led by the former international power forward Kostas Mitoglou (210-1996, college: Wake Forest) who scored that evening 25 points and 6 rebounds and Kendrick Nunn supported him with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) by American forward Nate Renfro (203-1996, college: USF) did not help to save the game for Peristeri. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Panathinaikos have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 24-1 record. Peristeri lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with ten games lost.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Piraeus. Second ranked host Olympiacos (23-3) defeated 4th ranked Promitheas (15-10) 80-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Promitheas. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Moses Wright fired 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Olympiacos’ coach Georgios Bartzokas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Hunter Hale produced 13 points and 4 steals for lost side. Defending champion maintains second position with 23-3 record behind leader AEK. Loser Promitheas keeps the fourth place with ten games lost.
