The previous (2022-23) season, he played at Monaco in the French Betclic ELITE ProA. In 35 games, he had 7.5ppg and 3.6rpg. Makoundou helped them to win the league title and the cup. He also played 8 games in Euroleague, where he got 4.4ppg and 2.8rpg. Makoundou contributed to his team making it to the Euroleague Final Four.
He has also been a member of the French international program for some years. Makoundou has regularly played for the French senior team since 2022 and previously for the U18 National Team back in 2018.
He represented France at the World Cup U19 in Crete (Greece) five years ago. Makoundou’s team won Bronze, and his stats at that event were 7 games: 4.0ppg, 2.4rpg.
Makoundou has also played professionally for other French teams like Cholet Basket and Cholet.
Among many awards, he received Eurobasket.com All-French ProA U21 Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-French ProA U21 Forward of the Year award back in 2020.
