Launceston layout to undergo an upgrade | Inside Golf. Australia’s Most-Read Golf Magazine as named by Australian Golfers

Launceston layout to undergo an upgrade | Inside Golf. Australia’s Most-Read Golf Magazine as named by Australian Golfers

By Michael Davis

Tasmania’s elevation to one of the best island golf destinations in the world continues apace with Country Club Tasmania to spend $14 million upgrading its Launceston layout.

The venue is already a popular destination for golf and resort enthusiasts but when complete, the latest renovation to its championship golf course will enhance its reputation considerably.

The project to upgrade the course is expected to be completed in late 2024 or early 2025, with the goal of elevating the Country Club Tasmania golf experience to “championship standard” and solidifying its reputation as a top destination for golfers worldwide.

“The vision for the new golf course at Country Club Tasmania is nothing short of spectacular,’ according to publicist Rose Rand.

Designed as a parkland-style course, the new layout will showcase meandering creeks that gracefully connect to picturesque lakes teeming with wildlife. A feature of the new design will be the 10th tee, in what is believed to be Australia’s only island tee, accessible via two connecting bridges. Golfers can also anticipate well-defined fairways, strategically placed bunkers and undulating, expansive greens. The new design will cater for players of all skill levels.

Already one of Tasmania’s finest original links courses, Country Club Tasmania’s 18-hole championship golf course will be impressive. However, play will be restricted to nine holes during the update.

Beyond the golf course, Country Club Tasmania has extensive renovations planned throughout the property. This includes the creation of a world-class driving range and an extraordinary mini golf facility, “set to redefine the leisure experience at the resort and create lasting memories for guests of all ages,” Rand says.

The resort already allows golfers, whether individuals or groups, to design their own Tasmanian golfing adventure and to discover why Tasmania is quickly emerging as a top golfing destination.

Rand said, “The experienced team at Country Club Tasmania will tailor your golfing getaway to your preferences, including arranging luxury road transfers and green fees at golf courses across Tasmania.”

Country Club Tasmania is Australia’s first integrated resort, offering a premier destination for golf and resort enthusiasts set in Tasmania’s picturesque landscape. Resort facilities include a casino, health club, horse riding, restaurants, and bars.
