LeBron James has for the first time addressed ESPN’s report about the Golden State Warriors making a bold play to acquire him at the trade deadline.
James broke his silence on the situation on Inside The NBA during All-Star Weekend.
“I actually heard about it when everybody else heard about it,” James said. “Sometimes there’s conversations that happen behind closed doors that you don’t even know about it. And I guess until it’s real or not, then they’ll bring it to you. But it never even got to me.”

James also told the ‘Inside’ crew that his son, Bronny James, was yet to decide whether he would enter the NBA draft at the end of his freshman season with USC.
“It’s up to him, it’s up to the kid,” James said. “We’re going to go through the whole process. He’s still in season now. He has the Pac-12 tournament coming up. … We’re going to weigh all options and we’re going to let the kid make the decision.”
TNT’s Kenny Smith then cracked a joke about Bronny presumably not feeling a whole of pressure to get to the league and start making money, considering the James’ family’s wealth. LeBron laughed and said, “It’s definitely not financial.”
Bronny is averaging just 5.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 20 minutes per game, although he is a more than capable defender. He is not listed among the top 60 prospects on any major mock draft.
