Leeds United Reportedly Targeting Josh Sargent from Norwich City
Despite missing significant time in the 2023–24 season due to injury, US international Josh Sargent played a crucial role for Norwich City.
With players like Jonathan Rowe and Gabriel Sara also attracting interest after Norwich’s failure to return to the Premier League, Sargent is another player drawing attention.
Sargent has been linked with transfers to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford, but former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Leeds should pursue the Norwich player.
Robinson emphasized the need for a natural goal scorer at Leeds to secure promotion next season in an interview with Football Insider:
“I think the feeling from within the club is that a number nine is needed,” said Robinson. “I’ve not heard whether Leeds are interested in Sargent or not, but the links are there with the manager.”
“I think a lot of incomings will depend on outgoings and what they’ve got to spend.”
Leeds need a new attacker this summer
Robinson’s assessment is aligned with Leeds’ urgent requirement for a prolific goal scorer, as their promotion hopes were derailed by lack of goals towards the end of the season.
Manager Daniel Farke is expected to make signings to bolster the squad for another shot at Premier League promotion.
