Leeds Star Faces Exit After Frustration with Farke's Decision After Just One Seasonn

Lucas Perri’s Frustration Grows at Leeds United

Lucas Perri, the Brazilian goalkeeper for Leeds United, is reportedly becoming increasingly unhappy with his limited playing time at Elland Road. Journalist Jorge Nicola has indicated that a move away from the club could be on the horizon this summer.

The 28-year-old joined Leeds from Lyon last summer for €16 million, expected to become the first-choice goalkeeper under manager Daniel Farke.

However, after experiencing a “terrible fall from grace” due to a series of notable mistakes that led him to lose his starting position in the Premier League, Perri has found himself relegated to a role primarily focused on cup competitions.

Brazilian Clubs Show Interest in Perri

Perri’s lack of playing time in league matches is beginning to impact his international career. Although he was previously in contention for the Brazil national team, he has not been included in any squads by head coach Carlo Ancelotti for the past year.

With the 2026 World Cup approaching, his current situation on the bench at Leeds poses a risk for his selection prospects.

According to reports, Perri’s representatives are considering a return to Brazil favorably, suggesting that regular appearances in his home country would be beneficial for regaining form and catching Ancelotti’s attention.

Several clubs in Brazil are keeping an eye on Perri, prepared to offer him the starting position he desires.

Perri’s FA Cup Heroics

Even though Perri’s league position is in jeopardy, with Karl Darlow performing well in goal and having earned back-to-back clean sheets against Crystal Palace and Brentford, he has continued to impress in knockout competitions.

Most recently, Perri was instrumental in Leeds United reaching the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time since 1987. In the quarter-final match against West Ham, which ended in a 2-2 draw, he saved two penalties during the shootout, leading to a 4-2 victory.

Despite his standout performance and an upcoming trip to Wembley to face Chelsea, Perri has only started twice since being dropped from the league lineup.

With Daniel Farke seemingly committed to Darlow as his Premier League goalkeeper, Perri’s exceptional form in cup competitions may serve as a valuable audition for a potential transfer this summer.
