Leeds United Shows Interest in Brighton’s Carl Rushworth

Leeds United’s head coach, Daniel Farke, has reportedly expressed interest in the future of Brighton goalkeeper Carl Rushworth as the summer transfer window approaches.
The 24-year-old is presently on loan at Coventry City, where he has made a significant impact while helping the Championship leaders aim for promotion to the Premier League.
As Coventry looks to secure his services, Leeds appears to have inquired about a possible transfer, as noted by TEAMtalk.
Leeds is in need of a new goalkeeper, and given Rushworth’s promising potential, he could be a solid addition. However, the situation may hinge on the fate of Brighton’s current first-choice goalkeeper, Bart Verbruggen, in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Rushworth’s Future at Brighton
Despite being a property of Brighton, Rushworth has yet to make an official appearance for the club, spending most of his career on loan. This current stint marks his sixth loan departure from Brighton.
Verbruggen’s future remains uncertain due to his standout performances, potentially leading Brighton’s manager, Fabian Hurzeler, to seek a replacement soon.
Rushworth could prove to be that ideal candidate, so it is possible he will finally find a place in Brighton’s setup after completing his loan at Coventry this summer.
A report from talkSPORT revealed that Tottenham Hotspur is also keeping an eye on Verbruggen, adding another layer to the situation that will be worth monitoring in the coming weeks.
If Brighton is able to retain Verbruggen, Rushworth’s chance of breaking into the squad may diminish, opening the door for Leeds or another club to acquire him instead.
