Leny Yoro made his first appearance for Manchester United on Saturday as they comfortably beat Rangers 2-0 at Murrayfield Stadium.
Goals from Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill in either half were enough to secure the victory for United in what was their second pre-season clash ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 campaign.
Heading into the match, all eyes were on Yoro, whose signature United just secured from Ligue 1 outfit Lille. Yoro was officially announced as a new United player just two days ago but he certainly hasn’t wasted time in getting started at the club.
Just ten minutes into the proceedings, Yoro caught the eye with a superb block to deny striker Cyriel Dessers.

He would go on to produce other crucial tackles and blocks that kept Rangers from breaching Andre Onana’s goal.
An aspect of his game that stood out was his incredible ability on the ball. His composure played a huge part in United’s dominance of possession in the first half.
The 18-year-old was taken off at the break alongside nine other outfield starters as Erik ten Hag made wholesale personal changes.
After the final whistle, Yoro spoke to MUTV and gave his verdict on his debut performance.
The former Lille man said, “For me it was not at Rangers stadium but Manchester United stadium.”
“The fans are everywhere, they are really good with us. Of course they were here for me, it was really important, so thank you to the fans, hope to see you soon at Old Trafford.”
He added, “It was incredible.”
“Good game from the team, I was happy with my performance. I hope we continue like that.”
“The teammates helped me a lot, the staff made me comfortable. On the pitch we are together, so for me it is very good.”
Yoro explained that United will do everything to win their remaining pre-season clashes.
