LIV Golf is introducing a mid-season trading window for the first time, allowing team captains to make changes to their teams during the 14-event schedule.
The trading window is open from May 8 to June 9, giving teams a month to negotiate player swaps. Both teams must agree to the trade, and no modifications can be made to players’ contracts.
Players in the final year of their contract can also discuss extensions with their current team during this period.
Greg Norman, LIV Golf Commissioner, commented on the new initiative, stating: “As LIV Golf grows, the league will continue to establish opportunities to strengthen the competition. By opening a trade window midway through the season, all 13 teams have an opportunity to fine-tune their rosters and assess their team’s composition and performance.”

Norman added, “LIV Golf is delivering another exciting opportunity for professional golf that aligns with the traditions of many team sports around the globe, promoting strategic player moves and enriched team storylines.”
During last year’s off-season trading window, several player swaps occurred between teams like Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces GC, RangeGoats GC, and Smash GC, resulting in changes to team rosters.
Additionally, Carlos Ortiz moved from Fireballs GC to Torque GC during the off-season, prompting team adjustments. Players finishing in the top 24 of the ranking at the end of the season secure their spot for the next year, while players in the ‘Open Zone’ (25-48) in need of re-signing and those in the ‘Drop Zone’ (49 and below) face relegation but have a chance to qualify for the following season through the LIV Golf Promotions tournament.
