Liverpool is reportedly interested in acquiring defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.
The 25-year-old was on the verge of joining the Premier League side at the beginning of the season, but the transfer ultimately fell through. The club remains keen on securing his signature in January.
Liverpool Pushes Hard for Guehi
According to Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool is intensifying efforts to sign Guehi, although they will face competition from Bayern Munich, who are also very interested in the defender. Both clubs are reportedly making lucrative offers, and it will be interesting to see which club ultimately secures his services.
FC Barcelona is also in the mix, having engaged in discussions with Guehi’s representatives. However, financial constraints may hinder their ability to compete with Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
The Need for Guehi at Liverpool
Liverpool is in dire need of defensive reinforcements, and Guehi, with his experience at Crystal Palace, would be an excellent addition. They are currently in a strong position to sign him, along with Bayern Munich, with both teams ready to offer competitive salaries. The decision lies with Guehi.
Next month, the player will be eligible to enter into a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside England. Bayern Munich will be eager to persuade him to sign for free, which could be a significant strategic move for them. On the other hand, Liverpool might aim to secure a reasonable transfer fee and finalize his signing in January to avoid any bidding war later in the season.
