Liverpool is poised to secure Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri for €45million in what could be the first signing of the post-Jurgen Klopp era at Anfield. The 22-year-old has impressed during his time at Wolves and a deal worth €45m is reportedly already in place for next season, as per Todo Fichajes.
Sources suggest that the transfer of Ait-Nouri to Liverpool is nearly done, pending any last-minute hiccups. This potential move could be a significant one for Liverpool and other top clubs in the market.
On the other hand, Chelsea had also shown interest in Ait-Nouri, but journalist Fabrizio Romano downplayed the links between the Blues and the Algerian international.
Romano mentioned in a recent column that Chelsea are in the hunt for a left-back and could be exploring options for the summer transfer window. However, Liverpool seems to have edged ahead of Chelsea in the race for Ait-Nouri.
With Marc Cucurella struggling and Ben Chilwell facing injury issues, Chelsea’s need for a left-back is more urgent compared to Liverpool, who already have Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas as reliable options in that position.
