Liverpool is reportedly considering an unexpected transfer for French forward Ousmane Dembélé.
Recently crowned with the Ballon d’Or, Dembélé is among the elite players globally. According to a report from Fichajes, he is having difficulty reaching a contract agreement with Paris Saint-Germain, and Liverpool is prepared to make a move for him.
Could Dembélé Succeed Salah?
The club views him as a potential successor to Mohamed Salah, who may depart at the season’s conclusion.
It is reported that Dembélé seeks an annual salary of approximately €60 million. It remains uncertain if Liverpool can meet such financial demands. However, Dembélé is reportedly eager to relocate to England and showcase his talent in the Premier League, making a transfer to Liverpool an enticing prospect.
Dembélé’s Impact on Liverpool
The 28-year-old possesses exceptional skill and could bring an innovative flair to Liverpool’s attacking line. The team could benefit from a player capable of winning one-on-one battles against defenders—a quality they have missed since Luis Díaz left. Dembélé could effectively address this gap.
Nevertheless, the substantial wage expectations may complicate the deal. Liverpool appears unlikely to alter its existing salary structure drastically to accommodate the PSG star, meaning Dembélé may need to adjust his expectations for the move to succeed.
