Real Madrid’s young defender Dean Huijsen is reportedly on Liverpool’s radar for the upcoming transfer window.

As per Spanish sources, the Premier League club is prepared to offer €70 million to acquire the highly promising 20-year-old. Huijsen has displayed his talent previously in the Premier League during his time with Bournemouth, and he’s regarded as a great asset across Europe. It remains to be seen if Real Madrid will allow him to leave.

With Liverpool in need of enhancements in their defensive lineup, acquiring Huijsen could be a strategic move, especially with the potential departure of Ibrahima Konate, whose contract is set to expire this summer. Konate has not yet agreed to a contract renewal. Additionally, Joe Gomez’s future at the club is uncertain, as he requires more playtime, which Liverpool may not be able to offer him.

Bringing in an adept central defender is critical for Liverpool, making Huijsen a fitting option given his familiarity with the Premier League, which should facilitate a seamless transition. Should Real Madrid consider letting him go, it would present an exciting opportunity for the player. The coming months will reveal how this situation unfolds.

Having acquired Huijsen for €50 million, Real Madrid may find the prospect of a lucrative sale appealing. Furthermore, Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes has a connection with Huijsen from their time together at Bournemouth, potentially aiding in persuading the player to return to England.
