Liverpool is looking to enhance its squad with the addition of a high-caliber winger this summer, particularly due to the impending departure of Mohamed Salah.

As reported by Ben Jacobs, the club is assessing several candidates to strengthen the wing position, and they might pursue two talented wingers rather than just one.

Interest in Anthony Gordon from Newcastle

Jacobs suggests that Liverpool has a strong interest in Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United. He mentioned on X that the club has had a longstanding interest in Gordon, having come close to signing him back in 2024.

It will be intriguing to see if Liverpool rekindles their interest in the England international this summer. Gordon has been performing well for Newcastle and could prove to be an excellent asset for Liverpool. He can play effectively on both wings as well as in a central forward role, offering both goals and creativity to the team.

So far this season, Gordon has accumulated 17 goals and five assists.

Liverpool Exploring Various Options

Besides Gordon, Liverpool is also considering Michael Olise and Yan Diomande. It appears that Olise is unlikely to move to Bayern Munich, but the club’s intentions towards Diomande remain uncertain. The Ivorian talent is valued at around €100 million and has also attracted interest from Manchester United.

Additionally, there have been rumors linking Liverpool with Bradley Barcola from PSG, though the French team is currently seeking to extend his contract and will likely reject any summer bids. Another PSG talent, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, has also attracted Liverpool’s attention, but Arsenal is also in the running for his signature. The developments in these transfers will be worth monitoring.

Liverpool needs to bolster its attacking options this summer, making the eventual signings even more crucial. Notably, Gordon is a lifelong Liverpool supporter, which could make a move to the club particularly appealing for him.
