Liverpool Star Shares Thoughts on Rumored Links with Arne Slot

Liverpool have been linked with several quality managers in recent weeks and Arne Slot is reportedly one of the names on their radar.

Liverpool are looking to bring in a quality replacement for Jurgen Klopp, who has decided to take a sabbatical from management. Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is a target for them, and the 45-year-old has certainly impressed with his exploits in the Dutch league.

Club captain Virgil van Dijk has now shared his opinion on the potential links with the Dutch manager. The Liverpool defender believes that Slot is one of the better Dutch managers around and his style of play and philosophy could be a good fit for the Reds.

He said to ViaPlay: “I find it difficult to answer now. Of course, but I think Arne Slot is perhaps one of the better Dutch coaches at the moment and I think the way he plays and the philosophy he has means he could be a Liverpool coach. Well, I think what I also read and hear is that it is far from over and we’ll see and next year we’ll focus on that. Yes, but just a little longer.”

Slot guided Feyenoord to a league title last season and impressed one and all with his attacking approach. He has shown great quality when it comes to nurturing talented young players as well. The Dutch manager knows how to operate within a strict budget and he should be a good fit for Liverpool if they decide to appoint him.

The Premier league side have been linked with managers like Ruben Amorim, Xabi Alonso, and Roberto De Zerbi as well.

Liverpool working on Arne Slot deal

They have already initiated the move to appoint Slot as their next manager and it will be interesting to see if they can secure an agreement with Feyenoord. The two clubs are reportedly discussing compensation for the 45-year-old manager.

A move to the Premier League will be an exciting step up in the manager’s career and he will look to win major trophies with Liverpool. They have the resources to bring in quality players and they have an exceptional squad at the disposal as well.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s season seems to have collapsed at the very end with the Reds dropping points consistently. A defeat to Everton in the Merseyside Derby last night has now put a huge dent in their title hopes and it seems that the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City are now firm favourites to go all the way.
