Liverpool is aiming to bolster its attack by pursuing the signing of PSG forward Bradley Barcola.

The Reds had expressed interest in acquiring Antoine Semenyo, but he opted to join Manchester City. Subsequent reports, including one from GMS, indicate that Liverpool is now considering other options, with Barcola seen as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Bradley Barcola would be an excellent acquisition

Barcola is held in high regard in France and has demonstrated his capabilities while playing for PSG. Liverpool can provide him with a significant role, which could persuade him to switch to Anfield. At just 23 years old, he is viewed as a remarkable talent poised for a promising future. Although he didn’t always start for PSG, he managed to net 21 goals and contribute 18 assists across all competitions last season, showcasing his potential to evolve into a top-tier player.

Since Luis Diaz’s departure, Liverpool has lacked a player who can take on defenders in one-on-one situations. The team requires someone who can advance their play and inject unpredictability into their attack. Barcola would be a fitting addition in that regard.

Barcola might be lured by the move

A move to the Premier League could appeal to Barcola. At this point in his career, he needs regular playing time, and remaining on the bench at PSG could hinder his development. Liverpool can offer him that much-needed game time.

His ability to play on both wings adds versatility, which would benefit the Premier League champions. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can finalize a deal with PSG soon. It’s likely that securing his transfer in January will be challenging, as PSG would prefer not to lose a key player mid-season. Liverpool may need to wait until the conclusion of the current season.
