TalkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino has suggested Liverpool target Bryan Mbeumo as a replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Salah couldn’t prevent Liverpool’s surprising loss to Nottingham Forest at Anfield, their first under Arne Slot.
While Liverpool managed to keep Salah this summer, he, along with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, has a contract expiring next summer.
Liverpool told to target Mbuemo as Salah replacement
Salah has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, but Liverpool may enter contract talks with him soon.
Liverpool has likely prepared for Salah’s departure and may consider Brentford’s Mbuemo as a replacement, according to Cascarino.

“I remember saying to you about if Mo Salah left, Mbeumo would be the one I would have gone after,” he told talkSPORT.
“He’s got so much about him, he’s got goals, he’s got durability, he’s just a nuisance every time he plays.”
Mbuemo is valued at around £35m and has been with Brentford since 2019, coming from French side Troyes.
The Cameroon international’s contract expires in 2026, giving him a decision to make on his future with Brentford or seeking a new challenge.
With 53 goals and 42 assists in 204 appearances for Brentford, Mbuemo has the quality to play for a bigger club and may attract interest next summer.
