Liverpool’s Curtis Jones back in training after recovering from minor injury

Barcelona preparing shock move for Liverpool flop who still has four years left on contract

Liverpool have been given a boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest on Saturday as Curtis Jones is expected to be part of Arne Slot’s squad having returned to full training on Tuesday.

The midfielder has yet to feature for the Reds this season having missed the Merseyside club’s last two matches prior to September’s international break due to a minor muscle problem but the 23-year-old has now completed his recovery programme, reports The Athletic.

Jones was part of full training on Tuesday ahead of Liverpool’s match with Nottingham Forest at Anfield this Saturday and the Englishman could receive his first minutes of the campaign

This will be a big boost for Slot as Jones was a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s squad last season, with the Liverpool star having his best campaign in a red shirt. Despite a few injuries, the midfielder featured 36 times for the Merseyside club, scoring five goals and assisting a further three.

The Reds academy product will look to kick on further throughout the 2024/25 campaign but will have his work cut out to break into Slot’s current midfield.

Can Liverpool continue their impressive start to the season?

Liverpool have made a great start to life under Arne Slot winning all three of their opening Premier League matches and that should continue after the international break as the Reds host Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth at Anfield.

Not only will Jones be part of the Liverpool squad for the Forest clash, but fans of the Premier League giants can also expect new signing Federico Chiesa to feature in the Reds’ squad at the weekend.

The Italian completed a move to Anfield from Juventus late in the transfer window and will be looking to make a quick start once handed his debut.
