December typically marks the culmination of the tennis season with the celebration of excellence at the annual ATP Awards, and the 2025 edition is no different. This year’s winners were unveiled to honor the remarkable achievements of players in both singles and doubles formats.
Carlos Alcaraz had a standout year, claiming three prestigious accolades at the ATP Awards. The 22-year-old Spaniard concluded the season as the ATP Year-end No. 1 for the second consecutive time, boasting an impressive record of 71 wins out of 80 matches and clinching eight titles from 11 finals. In addition to his ranking honor, Alcaraz received the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award, highlighting his exemplary conduct on the court. His coaches, Juan Carlos Ferrero and Samuel Lopez, were recognized as the Coaches of the Year, having guided Alcaraz to two Grand Slam titles this season—the French Open and the US Open. Notably, this marks Ferrero’s second win of this award, while it is a first for Lopez.
Jannik Sinner also had a significant presence at the awards, as he was voted as the Fans’ Favourite for a third consecutive year. Sinner continued to excel on the ATP tour, reaching finals in 10 out of the 12 tournaments he played, including major victories at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon. He concluded the season impressively with three consecutive titles, triumphing in Vienna, Paris, and the ATP Finals.
In doubles, the British duo of Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool earned recognition as the ATP Doubles No. 1 team after a phenomenal year that saw them reach 11 finals and win seven titles, including a pivotal victory at Wimbledon and another at the Canadian Open. Their remarkable consistency also included multiple runner-up finishes at Masters 1000 events.
Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori made headlines as well by successfully defending their title as Fans’ Favourite in doubles, becoming the first team since the Bryan brothers to achieve consecutive wins in this category since 2005.
One of the most impressive stories of the year came from Valentin Vacherot, who was honored as the Breakthrough of the Year. Vacherot’s incredible run at the Shanghai Masters, where he defeated fellow player and cousin Arthur Rinderknech in the final, made him the lowest-ranked champion in the history of ATP Masters 1000, dramatically elevating his ranking to the top 40.
Andrey Rublev was recognized with the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award for his philanthropic efforts through his foundation, which focuses on supporting children with critical illnesses. His work and advocacy for mental health awareness were acknowledged widely as impactful throughout the season.
Several tournaments were distinguished for their excellence, with the Cincinnati Open, Qatar ExxonMobil Open, and Nordea Open recognized for their exceptional organization. Awards for tournament standards of excellence also went to a selection of competitions from the ATP Challenger Tour, showcasing the enduring growth of the sport.
Overall, the 2025 ATP Awards not only celebrated exceptional performances and achievements in professional tennis but also reinforced the sport’s commitment to excellence, sportsmanship, and community engagement.
