Making another incredible addition to the roster of the defending treble-winners, the London Lions have announced the signing of 30-year-old American forward, David Nwaba from the NBA G League’s Motor City Cruise.
Nwaba is a veteran of almost 250 games in the NBA after stints with the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets during a six-year career in the league since being graduating from California Polytechnic State University.
With career averages in the NBA of almost seven points, four rebounds and an assist per game in under 20 minutes of action, Nwaba is proven as being able to contribute across the board at the highest level.
His career high in scoring of 21 points was achieved twice against the Bulls and the Nets in 2019 and 2021 respectively, as the 6’5″ American’s versatility made him a valuable asset at both the guard and forward positions.
Reflecting on the signing of Nwaba, Lions General Manager Brett Burman commented:
“We are all really looking forward to having David join the Club. I know he is excited to start a new chapter in his basketball life, especially when you get an opportunity to join a winning team who is in the hunt for trophies.
“We have a great group of guys who are excited to get David on board and right into the thick of it. He is a hooper, and at the end of day, it should be a seamless transition for him to hit the ground running and impact winning on this team. Our fans will really enjoy his physicality and style of play.”
