Chelsea’s Cole Palmer Cleared to Play Against Arsenal
Cole Palmer is set to return and start for Chelsea in their upcoming match against Arsenal this Sunday, as announced by manager Enzo Maresca on Friday.
Palmer was unable to participate in Chelsea’s recent games against Burnley and their UEFA Champions League victory over Barcelona, having sustained a toe fracture from a home accident.
Initially, there were doubts about his availability for the crucial London derby against league leaders Arsenal. However, Maresca confirmed the good news, stating, “He is available. Everyone is happy. The teammates are happy, we are all happy.” The Chelsea manager emphasized the importance of Palmer’s happiness and fitness in facilitating his return to play.
“He’s probably our best player,” Maresca added. “We are pleased to have him back, but we must ensure he is fully fit before fielding him for a full match.” Palmer last played in Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Manchester United in September, where he picked up a groin injury. Just as he was on the brink of recovery, the setback with his toe occurred last week.
This match promises to be an important test for Chelsea’s title aspirations as they take on their city rivals.
