Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass initially tried to find a positive spin on the Lakers’ playoff exit by congratulating them on their earlier success in winning the In-Season Tournament.
However, her post received significant backlash and was later removed from her page. The Lakers were eliminated from the postseason after losing to the Denver Nuggets in Game 5 of their first-round series.
“Tough season, but at least we won the in season tournament,” Bass said. “Proud of our team, @Lakers.”
