Luka Doncic has had quite the rivalry with Devin Booker for some time now.
The whole thing really blew up when they faced off in the second round of the 2022 playoffs. The rivalry even gave birth to one of the best NBA memes of the past few years.
Now, Doncic has opened up on where his relationship with Booker currently stands.
“It’s good. Last time we played, we didn’t have a fight. It wasn’t me and him,” Doncic said on JJ Redick’s podcast with a smile, referring to an incident involving Grant Williams.
“I told him, for one time, it’s not us.”
Booker has previously stated that his relationship with Doncic is in a good place, saying they both have respect for each other.
“Me and Luka’s respect for each other has been mutual and at a high level since he came into the league,” Booker said earlier this season.
“Obviously, a playoff series gets super competitive, as every game does. But the world just takes it and runs with it and that’s fine, it’s good for the game.”
Booker has a 13-7 edge over Doncic in overall wins and losses, while Doncic leads 4-3 in playoff games.
In terms of their stats while playing each other, Doncic averages 31.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 7 assists, while Booker averages 26.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists.
They will meet again when the Mavs visit the Suns on February 22.
