Macci Supports Raducanu’s Potential for Success

Raducanu Backed For Success By Macci

Emma Raducanu was once in the Top 10 and is backed to be there again by legendary coach Rick Macci, who described himself as a big fan.

The American worked with many big names over the years, including the Williams sisters. He knows tennis and still commands a lot of respect in tennis circles, so his insights are worth noting.

In a recent interview with Sportskeeda, Macci spoke about many players, including Raducanu. Like many, he was amazed by her US Open run, saying that she has a full package and will have more success beyond that.

It hasn’t quite worked out that way yet, but he has no doubts about it coming in the future, as he predicted a Top 10 return by the end of 2025.

“You don’t lose the skill, but you kind of lose the will and I don’t know what’s in her head. But, when she plays every point like it’s her last breath and she’s the ultimate competitor, I can see.”

“I said it before she’ll be top 10 in the world by the end of 2025. Once you get in that top 10, you can beat anybody anytime anywhere and I really believe that she can win Grand Slams again.”

The prediction might seem rather bold when looking at how things have gone since her US Open win, but tennis evolves. Raducanu is a better player right now than when she won the US Open; it’s just about finding the consistency and health to play regularly.

Her recent showings on clay prove that the talent is still there; it’s about finding form. After all, she’d agree that she’s played some of the best tennis she’s ever played in recent weeks. We’ll see what the future holds, but Macci has no doubts.

“Well, first off, I am a big fan because I think anybody that qualifies for a Grand Slam and then wins a Grand Slam without losing a set. You don’t lose talent and you don’t lose ability.”
