The most popular football division in America, Major League Soccer (MLS), has reached a multi-year agreement with US tire and wheels retailer Discount Tire. This collaboration marks another significant partnership for the relatively lesser-known tire brand, which recently became the official tire sponsor of the high-profile team Inter Miami.
Discount Tire to Support Grassroot Programs & Promote Youth Soccer Across America
Discount Tire will also sponsor the MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup, as reported by Inside World Football. The brand will feature its branding on Apple TV+’s MLS Season Pass, FOX, and other official broadcasters of the league.
Marketing activations will include in-stadium promotions, grassroots marketing, sweepstakes, unique experiences for fans, and Discount Tire branded merchandise. Additionally, community outreach programs will be conducted across Discount Tire’s 1,200 stores in 39 states in the United States.
Through this partnership, Discount Tire aims to support youth soccer and enhance the sport’s presence across the country.
Discount Tire Executive Excited About Partnership with MLS
Since Lionel Messi’s move to Inter Miami last summer, MLS has seen a surge in new fans, providing opportunities for local brands like Discount Tire to reach a global audience. Michael Zuieback, Discount Tire’s executive chairman, expressed his excitement about seizing this opportunity. Regarding the multi-year collaboration with MLS, Zuiebeck described it as a dream come true for the longtime soccer fan.
He stated:
“As a longtime fan who has witnessed the remarkable growth and interest in soccer in the U.S., I am incredibly excited to have Discount Tire named the Official Tire Retailer of MLS.
“We are eager to work with MLS to support local communities and to deliver Discount Tire’s message of simplifying tire purchases to fans and viewers nationwide.”
Discount Tire is also joining forces with MLS partner Continental Tire to sponsor other prominent teams in the division. Besides Inter Miami, Discount Tire will collaborate with Portland Timbers, Nashville SC, Seattle Sounders, FC Cincinnati, and Chicago Fire.
