Malik Nabers Opens Up After Experiencing First NFL Defeat

Brian Daboll Provides Update On Malik Nabers

Earlier in the NFL offseason, we saw just how big of a competitor Malik Nabers was. HBO’s Hard Knocks showed a pre-draft interview with New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll, and he made it loud and clear that he wasn’t happy with losing and with not getting involved in the passing game. He never hid his strong character and determination to get the job done, and that was one of the many things Coach Daboll loved about him. Ironically, that also raised some concerns. The Giants aren’t a good team and don’t have a good quarterback situation, and Nabers hasn’t minced his words about anything since he arrived in the Big Apple. Even so, it seems like he’s more mature than people thought. When asked about losing his first game as a professional, he claimed that everybody had to deal with losses in the pros, as nobody would have an undefeated season like in college. Per Nabers, it’s all about how you bounce back and respond to those losses.

Unless the Giants’ defense steps up big time and/or Daniel Jones figures things out overnight, this will be a very long and complicated season in the Big Apple. Nabers needs to come to terms with losing plenty of games, at least for the time being, hoping that things get better next year. Whatever the case, one thing’s for sure: He’s going to keep up putting big numbers and making highlight reel-worthy plays win, lose, or tie.
