The young Ivorian forward Yan Diomande has become a target for multiple clubs, indicating a potential exit from RB Leipzig in the coming weeks.

Nonetheless, RB Leipzig is in a strong position regarding Diomande’s future. The club has no intention of parting ways with the 19-year-old winger during the January transfer window unless a staggering nine-figure offer is presented.

Manchester United Makes Its Move for Diomande

Reports suggest that Manchester United has made an approach for Diomande; however, Leipzig values him at approximately €100 million. It has been made clear that bids between €60 and €70 million will not be sufficient. With four and a half years remaining on his contract, Leipzig maintains a strong negotiating position and is looking ahead to the summer for serious offers.

As per sources, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Tottenham are closely observing Diomande’s situation, along with Bayern Munich, PSG, and Barcelona. The sentiment in the market suggests that significant moves are more likely to occur in the summer, with Leipzig preferring to wait for offers nearing the €100 million threshold later in the year.

Manchester United has reportedly advanced discussions regarding a five-plus-one-year contract that would see Diomande earning around €3.5 million annually. Leipzig has permitted these talks despite their current refusal to entertain a January sale. The reality is clear: absent a major offer, the battle for Diomande’s services is expected to intensify during the summer window among top European clubs.

What Lies Ahead for Yan Diomande?

Manchester United has already spent a considerable sum on players like Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, leaving it uncertain whether they will be willing to make a record-breaking move for another winger. They might need to reposition Cunha to a central role to fit Diomande into their starting eleven.

On the other hand, Liverpool is seeking a player like Diomande, who can dribble effectively and create scoring chances from the wings. The team has felt the absence of Luis Diaz’s creativity and needs to fill that gap. Diomande has recorded 11 goal contributions this season, demonstrating his potential impact.

Tottenham, too, is on the lookout for a dedicated winger. Xavi Simons has been inconsistent in that capacity, suggesting a return to his natural central position would be beneficial.

It remains to be seen where Diomande’s career will take him next.
