Manchester United and Liverpool express interest in Eintracht Frankfurt’s in-form player Omar Marmoush – Transfer News

Eintracht Frankfurt's red-hot Omar Marmoush attracting interest from Man United, Liverpool - Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United looked short of ideas up front in their 1-1 draw against Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday with summer signing Joshua Zirkzee struggling up top.

Erik ten Hag’s strange choice to play Noussair Mazraoui, a right-back by trade, in the No 10 position did not help but the Netherlands international looked poor away at Istanbul.

Alejandro Garnacho was seen visibly disgusted with his fellow forward’s slow and laborious style and plenty of rumours are doing the rounds regarding his return to Italy with Juventus waiting to pounce.

United cannot count on Rasmus Hojlund alone and need someone with a killer instinct up top to support the Dane and as per TBR Football, they could have stumbled across the perfect fit.

United need a killer up top

Omar Marmoush has been on fire for Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 10 goals in 11 games while also registering seven assists so far.

In fact, he is leading the Bundesliga Golden Boot race ahead of former United target and Bayern Munich frontman Harry Kane.

However, the chase will be far from easy with a whole host of clubs looking at the Egypt international with the German outfit looking for around £50 million to let the 25-year-old go.

“Arsenal, Man United, Chelsea and Newcastle have all watched Marmoush in recent weeks, alongside European giants Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid.

“There is also interest from a Liverpool side who’s own Egyptian talisman – Mo Salah – is facing an uncertain future with his contract expiring in 2025.

“Eintracht Frankfurt would look for around £50 million should they decide to let the 25-year-old go. TBR have been told, meanwhile, that Frankfurt currently have no plans to cash in during the January window.

“Marmoush is also in no rush to leave. He hopes to help Frankfurt, currently sixth in the standings, secure a place in the Champions League before pursuing a fresh start elsewhere.”

Marmoush on fire

Frankfurt will not let Marmoush leave in January with the Egyptian looking to help his team to a top four finish to ensure Champions League football for next season before jumping ship.

He was close to departing in the summer with Nottingham Forest in advanced negotiations but that ship has sailed and it is unlikely that the player will agree to a move in the future after seeing the calibre of teams chasing him currently.

United need a killer in the box and Marmoush’s form certainly shows he has what it takes with Egyptian expert Tarik Metwally even going on to say that the striker is better than Salah currently.

The former Wolfsburg star has a current market value of €40 million according to Transfermarkt and his deal with Frankfurt is valid until 2027.
