Manchester United beat competition to secure signing of Crystal Palace standout

Man United move ahead of Premier League rivals to sign Palace star

Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to sign Crystal Palace star Michael Olise, according to ESPN.

The 22-year-old has caught the attention of some of the biggest clubs in England after his impressive performance for the Eagles.

The Crystal Palace player is believed to have a release clause in his contract that becomes active at the end of the season.

Olise has been identified by Sir Jim Ratcliffe as the most important target of their summer rebuilding, and Man United are seen as a front running candidate for his signature.

In 16 games, the Frenchman has seven goals and four assists, and because of his performance, Man United are becoming more interested in him ahead of a potential transfer this summer.

Given the financial fair play (FFP) restrictions, Man United might be open to offering Aaron Wan-Bissaka as part of any deal to help increase their transfer budget.

Last year, Mauricio Pochettino’s team witnessed a dramatic collapse of their transfer when they believed they had activated Olise’s release clause. However, the 22-year-old went on to sign a new deal with Palace.

The Red Devils may encounter competition from other Premier League teams, and negotiations between Man United and Palace are not at an advanced stage.

The Red Devils have struggled to score and create goals this season, as evident by their numbers.

Michael Olise of Crystal Palace is reportedly open to joining Man United.

Together with Bournemouth, Man United have scored the fewest goals in the top 10 this season with just 52 goals in the league.

Their wide players, most notably Marcus Rashford and Antony, have struggled to make an impact this season.

The Red Devils are unfazed by the likelihood that, in contrast to transfer rivals Liverpool and Arsenal, they will not be able to provide Olise with Champions League football.

Man United should go all in for the Palace winger

Ratcliffe is reportedly an admirer of the player and wants his club to make a move for him.

Liverpool’s interest in him would have only made sense if Mohamed Salah was leaving the club, but the Egyptian is likely to stay for one more season.

At Arsenal, the left-wing position is occupied by Bukayo Saka and Olise would find it difficult to get a place in the team ahead of the English international.

A move to Old Trafford makes sense for the player and the club and it would benefit all the parties.
