Manchester United considers loan deal for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte – Latest news on transfers

Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United in talks in last few hours over Manuel Ugarte - Man United News And Transfer News

With INEOS at the helm, Manchester United have already shown they mean business and have wrapped up two huge incomings while more are in the pipeline.

Joshua Zirkzee arrived from Bologna to increase Erik ten Hag’s options upfront while the Red Devils have also wrapped up a deal for generational talent Leny Yoro despite Real Madrid’s presence in the race.

And the 20-time English league champions are not done just yet with another potential centre-back deal in the pipeline as well as additions in midfield.

However, due to PSR concerns, the club will need to focus on moving players on before they can again focus on their recruitment drive.

Midfield recruitment

If they cannot shift high-earners like Casemiro, the midfield might not see any additions or as relayed by The Peoples Person earlier, loan deals will have to be explored as was the case last summer.

Sofyan Amrabat arrived temporarily and the Moroccan could once again be the subject of another loan offer from the Old Trafford side.

INEOS’ primary option to strengthen in the middle of the park is Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte with the French giants reportedly rejecting United’s bid for the Uruguayan earlier in the window.

With left-back another area that needs to be looked at, Givemesport have now revealed that the English giants could propose a loan offer for the Copa America 2024 star.

This will allow them to focus on other areas of the squad while strengthening the midfield considerably following a dismal last campaign wherein the Brazilian superstar and Christian Eriksen struggled due to their lack of pace. There is a need to reduce the age of the engine room moving forward.

Midfield loans?

United would be open to offering an option or obligation to buy depending on their discussions with the Parisian giants but whether PSG would be open to a loan exit for a star they just bought last summer remains to be seen.

United’s confidence stems from the fact that the former Sporting Lisbon star has made no secret of his desire to move to Manchester and the player could thus put pressure on his parent club to allow him to leave.

“Manchester United could attempt to sign Manuel Ugarte on an initial loan deal as it would allow boss Erik ten Hag to spend more money on strengthening alternative positions and the Dutch tactician is aware that the Paris Saint-Germain star wants to head to Old Trafford, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

“Manchester United are refusing to rule out the possibility of exploring a loan deal which would see Ugarte head to Old Trafford for the 2024/25 campaign, according to GMS sources, with the potential switch from PSG including an option or obligation to make the move permanent next summer.

Loan deal for Ugarte

“GMS sources have been informed that Manchester United are keeping their options open as they are aware that negotiating a temporary deal would speed up the process of bringing in a potential Casemiro replacement, while it would increase the chances of Ugarte joining before the new season gets underway.”

PSG boss Luis Enrique did not count on the 23-year-old too many times during the second half of the campaign despite a bright start at his new club and Ugarte remains keen on regular gametime and showed his quality in the USA recently.

If PSG insists on only a permanent deal, this particular piece of business might be left for late in the window as multiple player sales would be required to match the Ligue 1 side’s asking price.

United would prefer to do a deal below £45 million while the French side is asking for £50 million minimum having signed the player for the same price.
