Manchester United finds hope as Real Madrid consider alternate target for Leny Yoro – Latest Man United Transfer Updates

Hope for Manchester United as Real Madrid target plan B for Leny Yoro - Man United News And Transfer News

Real Madrid are looking at options as a plan B to Manchester United target Leny Yoro should he decide to sign for the English club or be forced to stay at Lille for one more year.

The 18 year old defensive sensation has been linked to moves to Real Madrid, United, Liverpool and Paris-Saint Germain.

But it is the Red Devils that have taken the most decisive steps as they have had a €50 million bid accepted by LOSC Lille for the player’s services.

It has been widely reported that the Frenchman dreams of signing for Madrid but he is said to be currently considering United’s proposal to join the 20 time English champions right now.

PSG are reportedly out of the race and Liverpool’s interest is yet to develop into concrete action.

Spanish newspaper and Madrid mouthpiece AS have reported that the club need to replace Nacho and “Yoro is the favorite, but his arrival implies certain difficulties: Lille wants a significant amount for him and there are several teams competing for his signature.”

The outlet states that the European champions are banking on the defender’s “desire to wear the Madrid shirt and that his contract ends in 2025, so he can arrive for free in a year if there is no agreement.”

Nonetheless, perhaps confidence in a deal is wavering as the paper reports that Madrid are searching for other targets, with Mario Gila the leading alternative.

The defender left Madrid’s academy two years ago and whilst he struggled in his first year at S.S Lazio, “he managed to establish himself in the starting eleven” last season.

“Yoro is the first option and if it cannot be, Gila will benefit and return to Madrid” and a deal would be rapid as they own 50% of his future sale, so would only really pay half of what the Roman club ask for.

The 18 year old has been given much food for thought in that the Red Devils have shown faith to swiftly agree a deal for him with his club and also by the fact the Bernabeu side are already considering alternatives for the player.

If Lille stick to their guns and refuse to accept a cut-price deal with los Merengues for Yoro, the player has a huge decision to make; if he waits out his contract and Real have already replaced him, there is absolutely no guarantee that los Blancos will come calling again in 12 months time, leaving him in the wilderness. There is also the possibility that injury or any other unforeseen event could scupper his chances in a year’s time.

Nacho’s exit from Real looked to have robbed United of the chance to land the Frenchman, as Real would be forced to move to replace him immediately. However, if they do not have the funds to match United and are already pursuing cheaper options, perhaps the Spaniard’s departure was exactly what the Red Devils needed to gain an advantage in this complicated transfer scenario.
