Manchester United in advanced talks to bring Go Ahead Eagles manager René Hake on board as part of coaching staff – Latest updates on Man United’s news and transfers

Manchester United close to adding Go Ahead Eagles manager René Hake to their coaching staff - Man United News And Transfer News

Major changes are expected at Manchester United this summer with Erik ten Hag desperate for reinforcements after the club registered its lowest-ever Premier League finish last season.

The 58-year-old is looking to recruit both on and off the pitch, with additions to his coaching staff expected before the new campaign begins.

Former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has been widely linked with joining Ten Hag’s team and another Dutchman is also close to a move to Old Trafford.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Go Ahead Eagles manager René Hake is likely to make his way to the Theatre of Dreams in the coming weeks.

Hake has been head coach with Go Ahead since 2022, securing an impressive mid-table finish last season.

He also has experience as manager of Utrecht, following a similar path to Ten Hag who also had spent time at both clubs during his time in the Netherlands.

Additionally, the pair worked together at FC Twente at the start of their respective coaching journeys and formed a strong relationship that now looks set to continue in Manchester with the “ambitious” Hake ready to make the switch to English football.

The United boss recently admitted he has “always kept in touch” with Hake and will no doubt welcome the addition should United get the deal over the line.

With Ten Hag’s future finally sorted, the United boss will enter his third season in the Old Trafford hot-seat.

INEOS are in talks with Ten Hag regarding a new contract but will expect a much better outcome from the manager and his players than what transpired last time out.

Alongside the new contract, it looks like INEOS are trying to provide the former Ajax coach with the tools required to secure a much higher league finish this term.

With the transfer window now open, INEOS are under pressure to deliver in the market after a decade of disastrous transfer windows have left the club falling behind the leading lights in the Premier League.

United are back in action on July 15 as they travel to Norway to face Rosenborg in the first of their pre-season friendly fixtures.
