Manchester United on the lookout for young talent at Ayr United – Transfer news featuring 17-year-old Dylan Watret

Chido Obi-Martin arrives for medical ahead of signing for Man United - Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Ayr United right back Dylan Watret.

The Red Devils’ academy is one of the pride and joys of the club and currently seems like a conveyor belt for talent.

Not only have Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho become two of the team’s biggest stars over the last couple of years but talents like Harry Amass, Toby Collyer, and Ethan Wheatley are now threatening to become regular members of the squad.

New owners Ineos have also ramped up the recruitment drive for young talents this summer with the captures of youth players Chido Obi-Martin, Samuel Lusale, and Sekou Kone.

United have also recently been scouting top Norwegian talent Sverre Halseth Nypan, who has spoken in the past about his desire to play for United in the future.

Scottish paper The Daily Record now reports that the Old Trafford side is currently keeping tabs on another young talent.

“Manchester United are the latest top club to run the rule over Ayr United starlet Dylan Watret.”

“The English giants were at Somerset to watch the 17-year-old win man of the match against Partick on Saturday.”

Numerous clubs are thought to be paying close attention to his development, with Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, Aberdeen, and Heart of Midlothian all said to be interested in the defender.

His manager Scott Brown is said to be a “huge fan” of the player and Ayr is aware of the “huge asset” they have on their hands.

He made his professional debut at 16 and has been at the Scottish championship side’s academy since the age of nine.

The Bellfield native has so far played eight games this season, scoring one goal and contributing two assists for his side.
