Manchester United have confirmed that academy star Toby Collyer has extended his stay with the club by signing a new contract.
Collyer joined United in 2022 from Brighton and Hove Albion with a big reputation.
At 20, Collyer is one of the most physically developed players in United’s youth ranks, well-suited for a holding midfield role due to his height and strength. He is also a skilled passer of the ball and possesses excellent dribbling ability.
Although predominantly right-footed, Collyer is also proficient with his left foot.
He first appeared in a United matchday squad under Erik ten Hag during a defeat to Fulham in February.
Collyer was on the first-team bench for seven Premier League matches during the injury-hit 2023/24 season, including the last four fixtures in the top flight. He was also an unused substitute in the Emirates FA Cup fifth-round win against Nottingham Forest and has been a regular in the Under-18s and Under-21s.
United has officially announced that Collyer has signed a new contract until 2027, with an option to extend for an additional year.

United stated, “The new deal is reward for his efforts since joining the club and everybody would like to congratulate Toby and wish him well for what lies ahead in 2024/25.”
Collyer will be looking to earn game time in the club’s pre-season. Erik ten Hag’s side will face Rosenborg on Monday in a friendly, likely featuring a mix of youth and senior stars.
