Manchester United receive injury boost as Dan Gore resumes light training at Carrington – Latest updates on Man United’s squad and transfers

Injury boost for Manchester United as Dan Gore returns to light training at Carrington - Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United have been handed even more good news, with Dan Gore now also reportedly back to light training after a lengthy period on the sidelines.

United recently confirmed the return of Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund ahead of the club’s clash against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Erik ten Hag later revealed that the two are in contention to be part of the matchday squad that makes its way to Selhurst Park for the meeting.

Steven Railston of the Manchester Evening News has now relayed that Gore has also “returned to light training” following a three-month absence.

Gore was included in United’s pre-season tour last year and was tipped to have a breakthrough season at the club, owing to his impressive performances.

To aid his development and to secure first-team minutes for him, United sanctioned a January loan move to League One outfit Port Vale.

However, his time there was disrupted by a “freak injury” which he sustained after just one appearance. The midfielder didn’t play again for the Valiants.

MEN explains that Gore’s freak injury came about as a result of the player dislocating his shoulder during a personal training session.

The problem required the 19-year-old to undergo surgery.

MEN adds, “The midfielder is highly rated within the club and will be looking to make up for lost time when he returns, with followers of the academy looking forward to his comeback.”

Gore made his senior bow for the Red Devils in a Carabao Cup victory over Crystal Palace in September last year.

A Premier League debut followed when he came on as a late substitute during a sensational 3-2 comeback win over Unai Emery’s Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
