Manchester United are reportedly keen on exciting SL Benfica star Kerem Aktürkoglu.
The left winger only joined his new club this summer after an impressive stint with Galatasaray where he scored 46 goals in 179 appearances.
The 25-year-old Turk has had a wonderful start to life in Portugal, scoring six goals and providing five assists.
Impressively, two of those efforts have been in the Champions League, where he has bagged a goal against both Red Star Belgrade and Atletico Madrid.
The Red Devils were reportedly interested in the rising star last season and scouted him playing for Galatasaray against Sparta Prague last February. He also impressed versus Erik ten Hag’s team last year, scoring two goals against them in two Champions League games.
Spanish outlet Fichajes now report that “Manchester United are very interested in Kerem Aktürkoglu.”
“His ability to break through and create danger in attack has caught the attention of several teams, with United being the most interested in signing him.”
According to the website, his performances this season have catapulted him to being considered “as one of the most promising footballers of his generation.”
United are said to be incredibly aware of the player’s talents and “there is talk of a possible offer of €40 million to convince Benfica to let go of one of their most coveted new talents”, as it would represent huge profit on the relatively low €12 million they shelled out for him in the summer.
If his exciting performances continue, Fichajes state it is only a matter of time before some of Europe’s biggest hitters make their move.
The winger has been described as “bringing a blend of flair, goal-scoring instincts, and creative vision to the pitch” and this would surely go down well with an Old Trafford crowd who are well versed in historically exciting wing play.
With Antony’s future likely to be away from Old Trafford and the youth of both Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho, an experienced yet young enough option like Aktürkoglu would certainly be an intriguing proposition for United to look at to bolster their attack.
